First Watch: Black Thursday, Super ZIPs, 'Alpha House'

Add Walmart to the list of stores that will be open Thanksgiving day, along with Target, Toys R Us, Kmart, Macy's and others. Hours vary, but bargain hunters who want to start at 6 a.m. can continue straight through to Black Friday.

Miami Herald correspondent Jim Wyss describes being detained for 48 hours:

I was wearing a bulletproof vest, lying flat in the backseat of an unmarked armored car and being escorted by three heavily armed men when I started to worry.

Perry Inhofe would have turned 52 on Monday, but the son of Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe died in a plane crash Sunday, reports the Tulsa World. A licensed pilot and flight instructor, Inhofe was the only person on board the plane when it crashed in a Tulsa suburb.

A new show will premiere on Friday, the first TV series produced by Amazon. Created by Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau and starring John Goodman, "Alpha House" tells the story of the “most likable Republicans in the country," four senators living in the same Washington, D.C. house.
