Say hello to another day of 60s in the Wichita area on Monday – then get ready to be without them for a while.

Much colder temperatures are behind a cold front moving into the area later in the day, forecasters say. Monday’s high will be in the mid-60s, with south winds in the teens switching to the north late in the afternoon. The cold front will bring with it a slight chance of rain Monday night.

Overnight lows will dive into the mid-20s – a 40-degree plunge from the afternoon highs – and Tuesday’s highs will only top out in the upper 30s. North winds will be in the teens, forecasters say, with gusts approaching 30 miles an hour.

Tuesday night looms as the coldest of the season to date, with lows dipping near 20. Wednesday will be sunny but chilly, with highs in the low 40s.
