Mason shakes off foul trouble

For Kansas freshman guard Frank Mason, it wasn’t the ideal start to his first career start. Just five minutes into the game, he had committed two fouls and was seated on the KU bench for the rest of the first half.

But Mason battled through the early foul trouble and finished with three points, five assists and zero turnovers in 18 minutes.

Worth noting

•  Kansas registered its 700th victory at Allen Fieldhouse. The first victory came on March 1, 1955, with a victory over Kansas State.

•  Freshman Wayne Selden finished with eight points and four assists in his KU debut.

•  North grad Conner Frankamp had five points on 2-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes for his KU debut. He also had three assists and three rebounds.

•  Heights grad Perry Ellis had 12 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes.
