MIAA

South Dakota Mines (5-4) at Nebraska-Kearney (3-6), noon — After only running for 49 yards in Nebraska-Kearney’s first four games, former Hutchinson High star Romero Cotton has run wild since becoming the team’s feature back. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound sophomore leads the team with 625 rushing yards and is averaging 115.6 yards per game in the last five games. Cotton was also the NCAA Division II national runner-up in wrestling at 197 pounds last season.

No. 6 Pittsburg State (8-1, 6-1 MIAA) at Lindenwood (3-5, 2-5), 2:30 p.m. — Senior linebacker Nate Dreiling, another Hutchinson High product, is 12 tackles away from breaking Pittsburg State’s career record of 471. Dreiling, a three-time All-American, has 78 tackles this season and also has an outside shot at the MIAA’s career mark of 491. The Gorillas seem like a lock for the NCAA Division II playoffs if they can win out against Lindenwood and home against Missouri Southern on Nov. 16.
