Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 8)

The only common denominator in this country is politician haters. The person who curses Obama simply because he is a Democrat is as ignorant as the one who praises him for being so. The only overhaul the government needs is the abolition of political parties and alignments.

Now that 27 Republican senators have voted to “disapprove” of their vote to keep America from defaulting on her obligations, I hope they will vote themselves out of office because they disapprove of defaulting on their obligation to their constituents. Flip-floppers.

It is hilarious to watch Democrats suddenly come to the realization that they have reached the point that they must either continue to support Obamacare or denounce it, say they were wrong and possibly keep their phony baloney jobs.

Obama knows what’s best for all of us. He knows this because someone told him.

Congress tried to delay the Affordable Care Act, knowing it was not ready to roll out. Of course, the Washington bullies wouldn’t have that, so now more Washington waste abounds on the average working citizen.

It seems the liberals have just two approaches to any problem associated with the “Affordable Care Act”: Either deny the problem exists, as they are doing about all the canceled insurance policies, or blame the Republicans somehow about the failure of the rollout of the enrollment period.

Government health care is natural for Europeans. They are used to top-down authoritarianism. Remember that Europe was populated by noblemen and serfs for much of its history. Why would “free” Americans want to emulate Europe?

Those people who want to believe that the recent partial shutdown cost $24 billion likely also wanted to believe that they could keep their health insurance policy and it would even cost them $2,500 a year less.

Regarding the lies told by presidents: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” and “if you like your health plan, you can keep it” aren’t nearly as damaging as the biggest and most deplorable lie ever, which was told by George W. Bush about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

The Republicans don’t want you to know that President Obama has cut this nation’s deficit in half since he’s been in office. However, it’s a fact. Another fact: The Republicans added billions of dollars to our deficit when they closed down the government. Which party is really helping you?

A very old rule of thumb is to use a comma where you would normally take a breath. This never forgotten rule was taught to us by nuns in the 1950s; neglecting to abide by the rule often resulted in a light tap of a ruler to the knuckles.
