Police seek help in solving copper theft from church

Wichita police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a theft of copper from a church.

Someone entered the Greater Pentecostal Church of God and Christ at 730 N. Cleveland at about 11 p.m. on Oct. 5 and stole the copper that was connected from the building to the air-conditioning unit, according to police. The suspect was on a bicycle.

Police have posted photos from a security camera on the department’s Facebook page. If anyone can identify the suspect, they are asked to contact Det. Kennedy at 316-268-4234 or e-mail at jkennedy@wichita.gov.
