Four people were hurt in a house fire early Monday morning in southwest Wichita, authorities said.
None of the injuries were serious, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said. The fire was reported at 2:04 a.m. at 1228 W. 27th South. That’s northwest of Seneca and 31st Street South, just north of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
It took firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The four people in the home all declined medical treatment. The Red Cross was called out to assist the victims.
Wichita fire Capt. Stuart Bevis said discarded smoking materials started the fire, which caused an estimated $2,000 in damage.
