Police have arrested two men after gunshots were reported in south Wichita.

A man reported that he was in his house in the 2800 block of South Laura, south of Pawnee, around 1:05 a.m. Sunday when he heard gunshots outside and a car speeding away, police said.

He didn’t see anything, but a witness described the car for police.

Police stopped the car nearby and found weapons and shell casings, according to Wichita police.

Police arrested the two men in the car. The 21-year-old driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 25-year-old passenger was arrested on a charge of possession of illegal drugs with intent to sell.

The two were also arrested on charges of vandalism by firearm, police said.
