The Wichita Thunder lost in its first game against the St. Charles Chill, 2-1 in overtime on Saturday in St. Charles, Mo.
The Chill won on a goal by Steve Makway with less than two minutes remaining in overtime. The loss dropped the Thunder’s record to 1-3-3.
Matt Robinson scored the Thunder’s only goal in the second period on assists from Jon Booras and Thomas Beaureguard, briefly giving Wichita a 1-0 lead before St. Charles responded with a goal from Jordan Fox, also in the second period. Booras has a point in each of the last six games.
Wichita went 1 for 4 on the power play while St. Charles was 0 for 4. The Thunder return home Sunday afternoon to play the Denver Cutthroats.
