For the third year in a row, the Salvation Army will have a committee whose only focus is Christmas activities, and Chase Koch of Koch Industries will lead the committee this year, the group announced.
“With the funds and goods donated to last year’s Mission of Hope campaign, the Salvation Army helped thousands of Kansans, including underprivileged children, adults with disabilities, and elderly individuals,” Koch said in a Salvation Army news release. He is senior vice president of Koch Agronomic Services.
Mission of Hope 2013 will have a kick-off event in Old Town Square from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15. The family-oriented event will include Christmas carols. The event also is designed to help find volunteers and begin holiday fundraising, the news release said.
People who want to be part of the committee are still being sought. Those interested in volunteering for the committee are asked to call the Salvation Army at 316-263-2769 for more information.
