Docking, Hensley to rally Wichita-area Democrats

  • Published Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at 2:03 p.m.

Lieutenant governor candidate Jill Docking and Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley will be the headliners at a public rally and fund-raiser for the South Sedgwick County Democratic Club on Saturday.

The event is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. at the Machinist Union Building, 3830 S. Meridian, Wichita.

Hensley will provide an update on school finance and Docking, a Wichita financial adviser and former Kansas Board of Regents member, will speak about the race she’s running with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis, the House minority leader.

Homemade chili, vegetable soup and desserts will be served; suggested donation is $5 a plate for adults and $3 for children.

Proceeds will go to the Democratic club to be used for campaign support for the party’s candidates in the 2014 state elections, said former state Rep. George Dean, the president of the club.
