A 19-year-old man was arrested after he was caught leaving Black Elementary School with a laptop early Wednesday morning, police said.

The man tripped an alarm at the school at 1045 N. High shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. That’s southeast of Zoo Boulevard and West Street.

When officers arrived to investigate, the man came out of the door they were about to enter. He dropped the laptop he was carrying and surrendered, Schroeder said.
