A man claiming to be armed robbed a hotel just north of downtown Wichita early Tuesday morning, police said.
The robbery was reported just before 5:30 a.m. at the Quality Inn in the 1000 block of North Topeka, Lt. Steve Kenney said.
An employee told police a black male came into the lobby and handed him a note stating he had a gun and to give him all the money. The employee gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the area on foot, Kenney said.
The suspect is 6-feet-5 and 200 pounds. He has a beard and wore a heavy brown jacket with a hood, black goggles and a white shirt.
