Police are looking for a suspect following a shooting in north Wichita Sunday night.

A 20-year-old man was shot at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday while he was walking in the 2400 block of North Hood, near Amidon, Capt. Brent Allred said. He stumbled to a house on Garland and told the resident he had been shot and needed help. He then collapsed on the porch.

A police report stated he was taken by private vehicle to Wesley West, then transferred to Wesley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. Police are looking for a 20-year-old man who was driving a green 1990s Honda Civic “with a loud muffler,” Allred said.

According to the police report, the victim said the man got out of the Civic before firing.
