Two people from Hutchinson were taken to a Wichita hospital after their car rolled Friday night near Mount Hope in northwest Sedgwick County.

A Kansas Highway Patrol report said the crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. Friday on K-96 at mile post 266. The report said the injured driver, who was traveling west on K-96, made an “evasive maneuver” to avoid hitting another car, which was making a left turn onto K-96 and had stopped in the inside lane of westbound K-96.

The report said the injured driver’s car swiped the right side of the stopped car, drove into the median of the highway and overturned.

The 42-year-old male driver and his 45-year-old female passenger, both from Hutchinson, were taken to Wesley Medical Center with possible injuries, the report said.
