The weather has already given us a taste of winter, and the busy last months of the year hurtle us from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Whether you need to beef up your furniture for holiday guests or just add some festive touches of the season, this section will help you get your house ready for the most wonderful time of the year.

And you don’t have to buy completely distinct sets of decorations for the different holidays. Find ideas for dressing up your house with items you already have in the house and with transitional items and materials that can span the seasons from fall to winter.

If you’re planning to order furniture or reserve rentals in time for the holidays, don’t wait; some pieces can take six weeks to come in.

When in doubt, businesses offer consultations in your home to help you make a decision, whether it’s about a new chandelier or dining-room table.
