Two men were arrested during an attempted burglary in southeast Wichita early Tuesday morning, police said.
A 38-year-old man called 911 to report someone breaking into his house shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of South Pinecrest, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. That’s just northeast of Oliver and Mount Vernon.
The resident sleeps in the basement, Schroeder said, and he heard someone “breaking into his residence through a rear window.”
He escaped the house and called 911. Officers arrived and found a 24-year-old man from Manhattan carrying a television and other property from the back of the residence, Schroeder said. He was arrested.
They also spotted a 44-year-old man from Hutchinson in the house, Schroeder said. He ran out the back door but was apprehended in the area.
