Wichita police are investigating a burglary that occurred Saturday in southeast Wichita.

A resident called 911 shortly after 3:40 p.m. Saturday to report that he heard the sound of breaking glass in the 900 block of South Royal, near Lincoln and Woodlawn, and saw two people leaving a house, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. The witness then told police he was following the two in his car.

“The individuals may have realized they were being followed because the suspect vehicle ends up wrecking, crashing at 400 S. Grove,” Brunscheen said.

Police arrived at the crash site and arrested a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old man. A 20-year-old man is being sought and may have been involved in the burglary, Brunscheen said.

Police also recovered a gun, a large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.
