A man was arrested Thursday night after ramming an acquaintance’s car with his truck, taking his cell phone, punching him and threatening to kill him with a machete, said Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte.

The victim told police that at about 11 p.m., he was leaving his apartment in the 200 block of East 26th when the man rammed his vehicle. The victim tried to call 911, he told police, but the other man got out of his truck, took his cell phone and punched him several times.

The man then went back to his truck, grabbed a machete and threatened to kill him.

Police later found and arrested the man and charged him with aggravated battery and aggravated robbery. The victim did not require medical attention.

Nolte said he did not know what started the fight.
