A 20-year-old man flagged down two Wichita police officers Wednesday and told them he’d been robbed.

The incident happened at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in the intersection of 25th and Chautauqua. The man told police he had gone to the intersection to pick up two acquaintances. When he arrived, both climbed into his car and one pointed a silver .38 caliber revolver to his head and demanded his property, according to Lt. Joe Schroeder, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The man reported he then jumped out of his car and ran as one of the suspects fired two gunshots at him.

When police arrived at the scene, “The car was still there, strung with marijuana,” Schroeder said.

The man who had reported the incident to police was arrested on suspicion of possession and attempting to distribute an illegal substance.
