Abilene Christian (3-2) at No. 10 Pittsburg State (4-0, 4-0 MIAA), 2 p.m. — The Gorillas get a stiff test against an FCS foe before heading into a season-defining stretch of games against Central Missouri, No. 3 Northwest Missouri and No. 6 Missouri Western. Abilene Christian is in the first year of a four-year probationary period on the FCS level and won’t be eligible for postseason play until 2017.

No. 15 Butler (4-1, 3-1 Jayhawk) at No. 16 Garden City (4-1, 2-1), 7 p.m. — The Grizzlies have had two weeks off to stew after their upset loss at the hands of Highland on Sept. 21, the first home loss for the Grizzlies since 2005. The play of first-year quarterback Hunter Vaughn will be key moving forward. In the loss to the Scotties, Vaughn was 11 of 21 passing for 97 yards and two interceptions.

No. 20 Friends (3-1, 2-0 KCAC) at Kansas Wesleyan (1-3, 0-2), 7 p.m — If the Falcons’ defense can hang on to potential interceptions — there were several easy drops last week in a win over Southwestern — they should roll over the Coyotes. KWU quarterback Trey Dallas, the son of coach Dave Dallas, is closing in on the school’s career record for total offense and has been a turnover machine through four games with nine interceptions against five touchdown passes.
