A 40-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation in Oaklawn on Thursday night and police are still looking for the suspect, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Elmhurst, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. That’s just southwest of 47th South and K-15.

The victim was stabbed in the abdomen, the supervisor said. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in potentially critical condition.

The suspect, a 25-year-old Hispanic male, walked off toward Idlewild Park. He is 5-feet-11 and 180 pounds. He has a mustache and was wearing a white shirt and brown shorts.
