The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office provided an update Wednesday morning on an accident involving a Cheney man who suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle hit two deer near Garden Plain.

The accident occurred about 8 p.m. Tuesday at 3200 S. 295th St. West, one mile south of Garden Plain. The motorcycle, going south on 295th, struck two deer in the road and overturned. The motorcycle ended up in a ditch. The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, was flown by medical helicopter to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with serious injuries.

Deer are increasingly moving this time of year, and authorities are asking motorists to use caution, especially at night.
