Nitride Solutions said it has received its first commercial order.

The Wichita-based manufacturer of aluminum nitride substrates said in a news release that the order was from a large manufacturer of light-emitting diodes in Asia.

Jeremy Jones, Nitride CEO, did not want to disclose the customer’s name but said it is “probably the most advanced LED manufacturer in Asia” and the order is valued in the thousands of dollars.

He said the order is the first of what he hopes will be many more for his company, which was launched in 2009 and began commercially producing the substrates last month.

“Right now we’re increasing capacity to meet our anticipated demand,” Jones said.
