A 24-year-old California man was killed shortly before midnight Sunday in a two-car accident in north-central Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report.

Christopher David Sukup, of Anderson, Calif., was driving a 1994 GMC Jimmy southbound on 258th Road south of Miltonvale when he collided with a 1995 Honda as he attempted to pass, the report said. The SUV rolled, ejecting Sukup and his passenger Kyle Owen Todd, 20, of Miltonvale.

Sukup died at the scene; Todd was taken to Clay County Hospital in Clay Center with injuries, the report said. Miltonvale is about 50 miles north of Salina.

The two occupants of the Honda were not injured, according to the report.
