A Sedgwick County inmate being housed in the Sumner County Jail has died, authorities said.
Edward Ray Dixson, 59, was taken by ambulance from the jail to Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington shortly after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Dixson died of a heart attack, Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said.
