Designer Q&A

Q: What kinds of fabrics are good for the upholstery in kids’ rooms? We also have pets.

A: The best fabrics for kids’ rooms and for pets are outdoor fabrics or solution-dyed acrylics. There have been tremendous developments in this area – no longer do stain-resistant fabrics feel like plastic. Shop locally, try websites such as www.outdoorfabrics.com or check out the fabric by the yard from Ballard Designs.
