Six people were arrested and nearly 60 others were ticketed during a seat belt enforcement patrol in the Wichita area over the weekend, authorities said.

The four-hour patrol was launched at 6 p.m. Friday, Sedgwick County sheriff’s Sgt. Troy Wells said. Four people were arrested for driving with a suspended license and two were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

Of the dozens cited during the patrol, Wells said, 41 were ticketed for not wearing seat belts and 16 others were given citations for other traffic violations.
