‘Shocks, Cops and Kids’ a free event Saturday at Koch Arena

Saturday marks another year for “Shocks, Cops and Kids,” the annual, free gathering for third- through eighth-graders that’s geared toward safety.

The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wichita State University’s Charles Koch Arena, on the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside. There, participants will engage in sports activities and workshops with athletes from the college and local law enforcement.

Registration will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday. A signature from a parent or guardian is required to attend. Lunch and a free T-shirt will be provided. Space is limited to 250 children.

Wright noted Friday that the event’s end time has been moved to 3:30 p.m. Flyers about the event list the end time as 4 p.m.
