A man needed numerous stitches after being beaten with a metal pipe late Monday night and police are looking for his neighbor.
The beating was the culmination of an ongoing dispute between a 58-year-old man and his 31-year-old neighbor in the 200 block of North Athenian, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s northeast of Douglas and Meridian in Wichita.
The older man was sitting on his porch at about 11 p.m. Monday when he saw his neighbor approaching aggressively, Nolte said. He grabbed a metal pipe to defend himself, but the younger man wrested the pipe from him and struck him several times in the head before leaving.
The victim is expected to survive his injuries, Nolte said, but he did receive several deep cuts from the pipe blows. Police are still looking for the suspect in the case.
