Wingnuts defeat Saltdogs

Jared McDonald’s two-out double drove in pinch-runner Madison Beaird with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, giving the Wingnuts a 5-4 victoy over the Saltdogs on Thursday in Lincoln, Neb.

The Wingnuts clinched the American Association’s best record with the win. There are four games left in the regular season. Wichita has won seven of its last eight games.

Cole Armstrong had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for Wichita. His single in the eighth started to rally.
