An 11-month-old boy, found unresponsive at a day care center Tuesday afternoon in Kansas City, Kan., died at a hospital.

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday to determine the cause of death.

Emergency crews were called shortly after 5 p.m. to the Advantage Child Care Center at 55th Street and Metropolitan Ave. First responders worked on the boy until the hospital crew took over, said Fire Department Deputy Chief Craig Duke.

Wyandotte County Coroner Alan Hancock said an autopsy is standard procedure in a case like this.
