Kyle Becker

Vice president of new business development, TFI Family Services

Becker's role at the nonprofit family services agency is similar to what it was at his family's roofing business: Find new ventures for the organization to pursue.

“We're really just trying to broaden our scope, expand beyond foster care and see what other kinds of unmet needs are out there in the community,” he said.

Becker, 28, grew up in Derby and went to Pittsburg State University on a football and track scholarship. He finished his business degree at Wichita State University and earned an MBA through Davenport University in Michigan. He managed the east branch of the YMCA while in college.

“I just really like the nonprofits,” he said.

Becker started at TFI in July. For the previous five years, he worked at the Pratt-based Becker & Sons Roofing.

His mother has been a foster parent with TFI.

In addition to foster care, TFI offers such services as adoption and residential psychiatric treatment in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Outside work, Becker enjoys spending time with his two daughters, Ava, 5, and Lakyn, 7, coaching their youth sports teams.

“I still really enjoy any kind of athletics, anything competitive,” he said. “I still go to the gym every day.”
