— A woman has been assaulted with one of her shoes.

Lincoln police say the incident occurred in an alley on the south side of downtown just before 3 a.m. Sunday.

The woman was standing near her car, holding her shoes, when another woman approached and they began arguing. Capt. David Beggs says the assailant grabbed one of the high heels and used it to strike the victim in the face, puncturing one of the woman’s cheeks. Then the assailant choked and punched the woman.

Beggs says the assailant was arrested. The victim needed to have the high heel removed from her cheek and was taken to a hospital. She was treated and released.
