Voter-ID laws are not partisan. They simply ensure that every eligible voter can vote each election – once.

Regarding the ACLU threatening lawsuits about voting laws: Bring it on. We have outstanding state lawyers and the constitutions of Kansas and the U.S. on our side.

In response to the biggest financial meltdown since the ’30s, in which banks and ratings agencies colluded to defraud investors and taxpayers, Sen. Jerry Moran thinks we should deregulate banks. Whom does he represent?

U.S. Rep. Mike Pompeo isn’t an eyewitness to the NSA surveillance programs. Pompeo only knows what the NSA tells him, and the NSA is lying to Pompeo and all Americans about these programs.

If Obamacare is so fantastic, why are President Obama’s friends and donors getting exceptions?

I sure wish we had forward-thinking city fathers, as we did 60 years ago when they built the Big Ditch. Why can’t our current administration make a new water-treatment center within this ditch?

Every time the floods come, Wichitans should say “thank you” to the federal government. It paid 70 percent of the cost of the Big Ditch.

The concept of global warming comes from years of research on global climate, not three weeks of rainy weather in Kansas. Fact: The polar ice caps are melting. What’s unproved are the long-term effects this will have on our climate.

No more Bob Knight. He’s one of the good old boys in government. I can’t see how he will move Wichita forward.

I like Koch Industries, but it must own a lot of stock in Westar Energy. When I drive by Koch’s offices late in the evening, it appears every light is on.

Another loss at Spirit AeroSystems even in the face of bigger profits. Does the right hand know what the left is doing out there?

Thanks to Braum’s having changed its mind, Derby is left with yet another empty building on K-15. Please, Derby city leaders, pay attention to the decline of the west part of the city.

Why is Cory Monteith being praised? He died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. He had it all and he threw it away for heroin. I will remember him as a weak-minded person who couldn’t handle or didn’t deserve the spotlight.
