A 51-year-old Wichita woman was taken into custody by police on suspicion of aggravated assault after a 15-year-old boy reported she had driven up behind him as he was riding his bicycle and two people climbed out of the vehicle, knocked him off his bike and stole it.

The incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The boy recognized the woman and police were called to the 1400 block of S. Emporia, where they looked for the bike, but didn’t find it, according to Sgt. Scott Brunow, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

Twenty minutes later, the boy and three woman went to the woman’s house. When they approached her about the stolen bicycle, the woman confronted them with a gun. Police were called and the woman was taken into custody.
