Sending the boyfriend for doughnuts on a rainy Sunday sounded like a good idea.

But it didn’t work out so well.

A 45-year-old Wichita woman told police that on Sunday she gave her 42-year-old boyfriend her debit card with permission to use it to buy doughnuts, according to a police report. He also drove her 1992 Oldsmobile, the report said.

But he never returned with her card or car or the doughnuts, according to a police report filed at 6 p.m.

It’s not clear whether the boyfriend used the card to take money out of her bank account, although the police report listed the woman’s loss of $20.

Police are searching for the vehicle, Wichita police Lt. Steve Kenney said.

No word on the doughnuts.
