Securities commissioner issues order against Topeka firm

  • Published Monday, August 5, 2013, at 10:04 a.m.

The Kansas Securities Commissioner has issued an emergency order of suspension against Gartner Financial Group, LLC and its principal, Scott Alan Gartner.

In a news release, securities commissioner Josh Ney‘s office said Gartner has been operating out of Topeka, but had been located earlier in Overland Park.

The state is alleging in its emergency order that “Gartner and his company willfully failed to comply with multiple requests for information by the Kansas Securities Commissioner in connection with an ongoing investigation and audit,” according to the news release.

The Kansas Securities Commissioner urges anyone who has been approached by someone selling investment opportunities that sound questionable to contact the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner at 785-296-3307 or go to www.ksc.ks.gov
