Wingnuts top AirHogs 4-3

The Wingnuts scored two runs in the eighth inning and rallied for a 4-3 win over the Air Hogs on Saturday night in Grand Prairie, Texas.

C.J. Ziegler drew a two-out walk in the eighth, then scored the game-tying run on Brent Clevlen’s triple to left-center field. Abel Nieves followed with a single to center, driving in Clevlen with the go-ahead run.

Lincoln Holdzkom struck out the side during a scoreless bottom of the eighth to preserve the lead, and Josh Dew worked the ninth for the save.

The Wingnuts built a 2-0 lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Wichita starter Chris Smith threw six scoreless innings before giving up three runs in the seventh.
