The Wingnuts’ offense went silent after a quick start, and Wichita started its 16-game road trip with a 3-2 loss Friday night in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The Wingnuts scored two runs in the first inning, making use of five hits. But six AirHogs pitchers held the Wingunts to three hits over the final eight innings.

Wichita starter Anthony Capra began with four scoreless innings. Brandon Pinckney’s two-out single in the fifth drove in Grand Prairie’s first run. Bubba Dotson’s two-out, two-run homer off Daniel Bennett in the sixth proved to be the game-winner.
