A Wichita man was convicted Friday of first-degree murder in the July 9, 2012, shooting death of Ronald Wilson in his apartment at 916 N. Broadway.

Prosecutors said Mathew McDaniel, 23, was one of three men who went to Wilson’s home in the Interdale Apartments with the intention of committing a robbery. The defense claimed that McDaniel was visiting Wilson’s apartment when another man shot Wilson twice in the head.

McDaniel will be sentenced Sept. 6 by District Judge William Woolley.
