The deaths of a mother and her son in a burning home in Green Ridge, Mo., are being investigated as murder and the major case squad has been called in, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

Barbara A. Hudson, 56, and Jeremiah A. Hudson, 26, both lived in the home about 10 miles southwest of Sedalia. Their bodies were found after a fire that was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. Monday.

The Western Missouri Major Case Squad is to convene Wednesday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tips Hotline at 660-827-TIPS (8477).
