Sedgwick County sheriff deputies wrote 45 tickets for seat belt violations during a four-hour patrol Friday night that targeted restraints, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

One citation also was issued for improper child restraint. During the patrol from 6 to 10 p.m., three were arrested for driving on a suspended license, one was arrested for warrants and one for drug charges. Sixteen citations were written for other traffic violations, the Sheriff’s Office said.

This operation, which was funded by a state grant, consisted of one sergeant, four deputies and two reserve deputies, the Sheriff’s Office said.
