Adopt a pet (July 20)

  • Published Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 7:03 a.m.

Poppy the Goofball, a 3-year-old female boxer mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

Hi, my name is Poppy and I just love being around people. It seems like we always have the best time together. We could go on walks or snuggle up and watch movies. I can’t wait for you to visit with me at KHS.

Also available:

• Junie the Goofball, 8-year-old female rat terrier mix

I’m a gal who loves being active. Are we going on a walk? I’ll get the leash. Are you walking to the kitchen? I’ll follow you in there. Is that a Kong chew toy? You just made my day. You should visit your new best friend at KHS.

• Penelope the Secret Admirer, 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

Hi, my name is Penelope. I’d love to cuddle up and fall asleep next to you. That sounds like so much fun. We could just watch movies all day long. You should come to KHS so we can start spending time together right away.

• Jack the Private Investigator, 11-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

Don’t worry. I’m here to make sure everything is checked out. Is there a cabinet that needs to be explored? I’m already there. Is there something interesting under the chair? I’m going to take a look. You should visit me at KHS today, so I can start exploring your home right away.

• Black Hawk the Hamster, 9-month-old female hamster

Hi, I’m Black Hawk. I’m a curious and fun-loving gal. I would make a great pet for someone in an apartment or for a first-time pet owner. I love to run around in my cage and I really like to be held. You should visit me at KHS today.
