The Friends of the Carmelite Nuns are sponsoring their sixth annual golf tournament to benefit Wichita’s community of cloistered nuns. It will be Aug. 12 at Willowbend Golf Club, and proceeds will go toward helping to build a chapel for the nuns, who are living in a modular house until they can afford to build a monastery.

The entry fee is $125 per player or $500 per team. For more information, contact Jeff Dahlgren at jcdahlgr@twgfirm.com or Mary DeGraffenreid at 316-721-2312. Donations also can be sent to Discalced Carmelite Monastery, P.O. Box 278, Valley Center, KS 67147.
