Storm debris collection site expands hours on weekends in July

A storm debris collection site operated by Sedgwick County will be open extended hours on weekends.

The debris site for tree limbs and brush will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July.

Weekday hours will continue to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The site is at 63rd Street South and Meridian near the Big Ditch.

The free site is open to residents, cities, townships and businesses free of charge. Commissioners have urged residents to not drop off other materials.

Residents may take other types of trash, for a fee, to Waste Connections at 37th Street North and West Street and Waste Disposal LLC at 55th Street South and Hoover.
