Officials with the Internal Revenue Service said the planned move of its Wichita offices will be delayed.

According to a news release, the offices, now at 271 W. Third Street, will move to 555 N. Woodlawn, Building 4, starting Aug, 23, 2013.

A delay in the shipping of some equipment was given as the reason for the delay.

As a result of the move, the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center will be closed Aug. 23. It will re-open in its new location on Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to the news release. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The IRS website and toll free number will continue to work. The IRS website is at www.irs.gov

The toll free number is staffed weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; it's 1-800-829-1040
