Authorities seek help in solving June burglary of Sheriff’s Office vehicles

The crime

At 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, three men entered the Sedgwick County Fleet Maintenance parking compound, 1015 W. Stillwell. Once inside, the suspects targeted three Sheriff’s Office vehicles, taking several items. Specifically, one marked patrol unit had a window broken out and a Bushmaster M4 rifle and a Remington 870 shotgun taken. One transport van had a window broken out and a Remington 870 shotgun, a sheriff’s coat and a GPS unit taken. Finally, a sheriff’s command vehicle was entered and a laptop computer, fire extinguisher and two flashlights were taken. Loss and damage is valued at several thousand dollars.
