A 19-year-old man was arrested after he threatened several people – including children –with a knife in southwest Wichita early Wednesday morning, police said.

The 19-year-old was fighting with a 21-year-old man in the front yard of a house in the 2400 block of West Savannah – near Pawnee and Meridian – when he left and returned with a knife shortly before 12:30 a.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said.

He forced his way into a back door and threatened a half-dozen people inside the house, including four children. Someone in the house called 911 and the 19-year-old left, Nolte said, but officers found the man nearby still in possession of the knife.
