Police are investigating a drive-by shooting early Wednesday morning in Planeview.

Someone fired several shots at an apartment building in the 3700 block of East Ross Parkway in south Wichita at about 4:30 a.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said. One of the shots went through a window and struck the wall of a bedroom where children were sleeping, but no one was hurt.

Residents of the complex saw a man in his mid-20s in a black hat and blue jeans leave the area quickly shortly after the shots were heard, Nolte said.

The bullet that hit the bedroom wall also struck a wall adjacent to a second apartment, he said.
